Adam Montgomery, a sturdy Scottish defender, was born on the 18th of July, 2002 and predominantly operates as a left-back. Identifiable by his no. 37 jersey for Celtic FC, he stands at a respectable 5ft 8in (1.73m) and weighs about 9st 6lb (60kg). Montgomery began his football journey with Celtic FC as a trainee in July 2009.
During his stint at Celtic from the 2020/2021 season, Montgomery enjoyed a sporadic run in the first-team squad, making two league appearances. His exposure was slightly improved in the 2021/2022 season, garnering him eight appearances. As of the current season of 2025/2026, Montgomery has yet to feature on Celtic's senior team sheet.
Montgomery's development was supplemented with loan spells to other Scottish teams. In January 2022, he was loaned to Aberdeen, where he made seven first-team appearances. Following his stint at Aberdeen, Montgomery was loaned to St Johnstone in July 2022 where he enjoyed more game time, making 28 league appearances in the 2022/2023 season.
Upon completion of his loan at St Johnstone, Montgomery's importance in Celtic’s squad remained the same as during his earlier tenure. However, his services were again contracted to other clubs in July 2023, this time with a stint at Fleetwood Town in England's League Two and then a brief spell at Motherwell in January 2024. Following his return from Motherwell, Montgomery made the move to Queen's Park on loan in February 2025 where he enjoyed career-high first team appearances and scored his first league goal.
In July 2025, Montgomery found himself in another loan move, this time to Livingston. He has made eight first-team appearances so far in the 2025 - 2026 season. After his loan period concluded at Livingston in January 2026, Montgomery returned to Celtic. His appearances have still been limited in the current season at Celtic.
Montgomery’s career, while peppered with numerous loan spells, has seemingly built in him an admirable resilience. His performances for Celtic and varied Scottish clubs, underscore a footballer committed to the sport and constantly seeking competitive opportunities.
