Alasana Manneh was born on 8 April 1998 (age 28) and is a Gambian central midfielder now with Hibernian, where he wears the No 8 shirt. His route into senior football was not a straight dash to first-team certainty. The early loan spells were important in that respect, giving him the practical education young midfielders tend not to get from training-ground promise alone.
His most productive league campaign came at Gornik Zabrze in 2020–21, when he scored three goals in 27 appearances. That remains the clearest statistical marker of a player whose work has generally sat more in the middle of the pitch than at the sharp end.
At Hibernian in 2025–26, Manneh has made five appearances in all competitions without scoring: one in the league, one in the League Cup, one in Europa League qualifying and two in Conference League qualifying. He has also been involved for Gambia this season, making four appearances in African World Cup qualifying.
His current market value is around £383,000, according to Transfermarkt. Manneh’s career to this point has been a steady professional one: developed through loans, established himself abroad, and now part of the midfield picture at Easter Road.
