Born in Cyprus, on the 13th of April 1994, Alex Gogic is a seasoned defender who primarily operates in the heart of the backline for St Mirren. Measuring 1.85m (6ft) in height and a solid 83kg (13st) in weight, Gogic presents an imposing figure on the field. His commitment to the team is embodied in his number 13 jersey, a number many consider ill-fated, yet Gogic proudly bears. His football prowess has also seen him wear the colours of the Cyprus national team.
Gogic got his big break in professional football in July 2013, when he transferred from Olympiacos in Greece's Super League to Swansea City, plying their trade in England's Championship.
In February 2017, the solid defender sought pastures new, moving from Swansea City to Hamilton Academical, a respectable team in Scotland's League One. Gogic quickly found his footing at his new club. He played in seven league matches in his debut season (2016–2017). The following season saw Gogic become a more established member of the squad, appearing 18 times and scoring one goal. His performance remained consistent in the 2018–2019 season with 16 appearances, and he stepped up further in the 2019–2020 season, making 29 appearances and adding another goal to his tally.
In July 2020, Gogić made another step upwards, transferring to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. His debut season (2020–2021) saw him make 34 appearances and notch one goal. His contribution was consistent in the next season, with nine games under his belt.
January 2022 marked a further shift in Gogic's career trajectory as he moved, on loan, from Hibernian to St Mirren, another Premiership club. He immediately made an impact, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal in the remainder of the 2021–2022 season. His performance for St Mirren over the subsequent seasons has been commendable, with his game time and goal tally steadily increasing. In the current season (2025–2026), Gogic has already made nine appearances in league matches.
In August 2022, Gogic's move to St Mirren was made permanent, indicating the club's recognition of his capabilities. The subsequent seasons saw him become an integral part of the side, seeing plenty of action on the field and contributing with key goals.
Beyond his club commitments, Gogic has been a significant player in various Cup and international matches. He represented St Mirren in the League Cup 2025–2026, scoring one goal in seven starts, and also the Scottish Cup 2024–2025 with two starts. On the international stage, Gogic made several appearances for Cyprus in the Euro Qualifiers 2022–2024 and Nations League 2024–2025.
