Alexander Nübel, born on 30 September 1996 (age 29), is a German goalkeeper with the size for the job, standing an imposing 6ft 4in (1.93m). His market value is around £10m, according to Transfermarkt.
His senior league record includes a 2015-16 appearance for Schalke 04, where he was part of a club that has produced its share of goalkeepers and its share of noise. Nübel’s route since then has kept him in that broad German goalkeeping conversation without turning the profile into anything more dramatic than it needs to be.
He is now with Besiktas, where his 2025-26 involvement so far has come in Europe. He has made three Europa League qualifying appearances for the club, which also accounts for his total Besiktas record across all competitions.
Nübel’s career, as it stands, runs from Schalke 04 into a current spell at Besiktas, built around the fairly plain business of being a tall, experienced German goalkeeper.
