Auston Trusty, born in USA on the 12th of August 1998, currently serves as a central defender for Celtic. Standing 6ft 3in (1.91m) tall and weighing in at 12st 1lb (77kg), Trusty, who dons the number 6 jersey, has also had the honour of representing the United States on a national level.
Auston was initially part of the Philadelphia Union, joining as a trainee in January of 2016. During his debut season in 2018, Trusty made his first-team debut, registering one goal in his 34 league appearances. His skill on the field was further emphasised in the subsequent season, where he made 22 first team appearances and once again struck the back of the net.
In November of 2019, Trusty transferred from Philadelphia Union to Colorado Rapids, both hailing from the USA's Major League Soccer (MLS), for an undisclosed fee. His tenure with the Rapids proved fruitful, with 8 first-team appearances in 2020, followed by an increased 33 appearances and a goal in 2021, and 16 first-team appearances in 2022.
In a notable move across the pond, Trusty transferred to England's Premier League stalwarts Arsenal in January 2022 for a fee of approximately £1.6m. However, his services were loaned back to the Colorado Rapids in February of the same year. He further expanded his UK experience by heading on loan to Birmingham City in League One in July 2022, having a successful stint culminating in 44 first team appearances and four goals.
After returning from loan, Trusty was transferred from Arsenal to Sheffield United, a club in England's Championship, for around £5m in August 2023. Trusty featured in 32 matches for United before the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season. During the onset of the current season, he made an appearance for Sheffield United before being transferred in August 2024.
Trusty's career took an exciting turn when he was transferred from Sheffield United to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a fee of approximately £6m. He has since made 20 first team appearances for Celtic in the current 2024 - 2025 season, notching up a goal in the process. He's also represented Celtic in the League Cup with three starts, and the Scottish Cup with two starts. In the prestigious Champions League, Trusty has taken to the field in Celtic colours nine times, starting on each occassion and coming on as a substitute once.
