Auston Trusty is an American central defender, born on 12 August 1998 (age 28). A commanding 6ft 3in (1.91m), he has built his career on the left side of defence, with enough physical presence to make him an obvious fit for the British game.
His strongest league season came on loan at Birmingham City in 2022-23, when he scored four goals in 44 appearances. That spell gave him a proper run of football and helped carry him on to Sheffield United, where Celtic eventually came calling.
Trusty joined Celtic from Sheffield United in August 2024 for around £6m. His time in Glasgow has already brought two Premiership titles, in 2024-25 and 2025-26, and the 2024-25 League Cup, with Celtic also finishing runners-up in the Scottish Cup during his spell.
