Ben Doak was born in Dalry on 11 November 2005 (age 20) and came through at Celtic before his career moved south. A right winger, he left Celtic for Liverpool in March 2022 for around £600,000, one of those departures that carried more irritation than surprise.
His Celtic background has kept him on the radar whenever speculation has surfaced. He was linked with a move to Celtic in August 2024 and again in August 2025, though his senior career has largely developed elsewhere.
After Liverpool, Doak’s football took him through Bournemouth and then into the spell that has given his career its clearest shape so far: Middlesbrough. In 2024–25, he made 24 league appearances and scored three goals for Boro, his most productive league season to date and the period that moved him beyond the category of promising former Celtic kid.
He is now with Bournemouth, where in 2026–27 he has made four league appearances, along with outings in the League Cup and Europa League. His value is around £13.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Doak has also been involved with Scotland this season, featuring in World Cup matches, World Cup qualifiers and the Nations League, with one goal in qualifying.
