Ben McCrystal, a Scottish forward, was born on 11 March 2006 which makes him 19 years of age. McCrystal is currently playing for St Johnstone, often deployed on the left wing. He currently represents the team wearing the number 43 jersey. McCrystal's contract with St Johnstone will expire in a mere span of two months from now, on 31 May 2025.
His journey to St Johnstone began in July 2021 when he joined the Scottish Premiership club. His ability as a left winger was to be tested at a higher level, trading his comfort zone for the intense arena of the Premiership.
Interestingly, McCrystal was loaned out to Broomhill, a club in the Lowland League in Scotland, in September 2023, a noticeable downward shift in level. The move was possibly structured for the player to garner game time and experience in an environment bearing less scrutiny and pressure. His time there, however, ended in July 2024, as he returned to his parent club St Johnstone.
While McCrystal was absent, St Johnstone had to grapple with their campaign without him, giving the forward time to develop during his temporary sojourn at Broomhill. As he rejoined his squad, the club's and his own hopes will be pinned on whether he can turn his gained experience into impactful performances. At present, the termination of his contract with St Johnstone is imminent, opening up a new chapter for Ben McCrystal's career in the near future.
