Striker Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka, born 21 February 2000 in Sweden, is currently the wearer of the number 29 jersey for St Johnstone. Standing at a height of 1.82m (5' 11"), and boasting a weight of 67kg (10st 7lb), Kimpioka commenced his football career on the international stage in July 2016 with Sunderland in the English Championship as a trainee.
Whilst maintaining ties with Sunderland, March of 2021 marked a momentary period of loan to Torquay United in the National League South, England. Notably, this was followed up by his return to Sunderland upon completion of his loan in July 2021.
Kimpioka's spell with Sunderland was soon interrupted again by another loan, this time to Southend United in the National League, England in September 2021. After returning from his loan spell at Southend United in November 2021, he stayed put at Sunderland till March 2022. On the cusp of Spring, Kimpioka bade Sunderland goodbye, transferring to AIK in the Allsvenskan, Sweden. No monetary specifics were revealed regarding the transactions.
His season with AIK saw him making 16 appearances and netting one goal in the league. However, come 2023, yet another loan awaited him; Kimpioka transferred from AIK to Luzern in the Super League, Switzerland. His time at Luzern saw him playing six games and netting a solitary goal.
Upon his return from Luzern to AIK in the summer of 2023, Kimpioka repeated his previous performance with 16 appearances and one goal to his name. Next on his football journey, January 2024 saw him transfer to the St Johnstone in the Premiership, Scotland. This move proved fruitful, marking Kimpioka's best season yet with 17 appearances and three goals under his belt.
In the current season of 2024-2025, Kimpioka has raised the bar further by making 25 appearances and scoring six goals. He has also proudly represented St Johnstone in the League Cup 2024 - 2025, netting the ball an impressive five times in five starts, and had one appearance in the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 donning the St Johnstone jersey.
