Born in Northern Ireland on the 26th of May 1997, Brad Lyons is a seasoned midfielder who primarily finds himself at the centre of the field for his current team, Kilmarnock. At the prime age of 27, he brings a considerable amount of experience to the table, standing at an impressive 6ft tall (1.83m) and weighing 11st 13lb (76kg). He dons the number 8 jersey, and has also had the honour of representing the Northern Ireland national team.
Lyons kicked off his football career with Coleraine in the Northern Irish Premiership, joining as a trainee in July 2014. His debut season (2014 - 2015) saw him pull off 11 first-team appearances, netting two goals in league matches. Over the following seasons his presence on the turf grew, making 30 appearances and scoring four goals in the 2015 - 2016 season, followed by 24 appearances and five goals in the 2016 - 2017 season. His final season with Coleraine in 2017 - 2018 saw him making 17 first-team appearances and three league goals.
Lyons then transferred on loan to Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship in September 2018. This was followed by a permanent move to Blackburn Rovers in January 2019 for an undisclosed fee. However, he didn't stay at Blackburn long, moving on loan to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership within the same month. At St Mirren in the 2018 - 2019 season, Lyons made 15 first team appearances and scored a single goal.
Upon completion of his loan, Lyons returned to Blackburn Rovers in June 2019. In January 2021, he was again loaned out, this time to Morecambe in the English League Two. This was followed by a transfer in July 2021 to his current team, Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership. Over his playtime at Kilmarnock, Lyons has made significant contributions, including 62 first-team appearances and four goals over three seasons - 2022 to 2025.
Beyond just league matches, Lyons has also participated in various cup and qualifying matches. In the 2024 - 2025 season, he showed up as a substitute in the League Cup for Kilmarnock, started a match in the Scottish Cup for Kilmarnock, and started in a Euro Qualifier for Northern Ireland. The same season also saw him start twice in the Europa League Qualifiers for Kilmarnock and make two substitute appearances in the Nations League for Northern Ireland. He also kicked off four matches in the Conference League Qualifiers for Kilmarnock.
