Dutch centre-half Dies Janse (born 17 January 2006, age 20) is a tall Ajax defender, standing 6ft 5in (1.96m), and wears squad number 36. He is still at the development stage, but already has a useful run of senior league football behind him.
His strongest league season so far came in 2025-26 with FC Groningen, where he made 31 appearances and scored twice. For a young central defender, that is the sort of season that does more for a career than polite academy notices.
In 2026-27, Janse made one league appearance for Jong Ajax and then two for Ajax, keeping him on the first-team edge rather than buried out of sight. His market value is around £765,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Janse’s career to this point is that of a developing Dutch defender: early senior minutes at Groningen, a place around Ajax, and enough physical presence to be noticed without needing to pretend the story is further on than it is.
