Elie Youan, born on 7th April 1999, hails from France and is a forward, more often seen holding fort as a left-winger for Hibernian. Standing at 6ft (1.83m) and weighing a solid 12st 3lb (78kg), Youan dons the number 7 jersey with aplomb.
The Frenchman started his journey in the world of football in July 2015 when he joined Ligue 1 outfit, Nantes, as a trainee. His debut season in 2018 - 2019 saw him get a feel of the turf in his solitary appearance in top-tier football. An incremental step up the following season saw him take to the field on five occasions in league matches for Nantes.
September 2020 heralded a new chapter in Youan's career as he was loaned out to Swiss Super League counterpart, St. Gallen. His first season in Swiss football saw him make a mark with 29 first team appearances and bagging five goals. The following season, Youan appeared for St. Gallen on 18 occasions, managing to add six more goals to his tally.
The summer of 2021 saw Youan pledging his long-term future to St. Gallen, making the switch from Nantes for a fee reputed to be around £450k. Another full season in Switzerland beckoned for the left-winger with the 2020 - 2021 and the 2021 - 2022 seasons seeing him make 47 appearances and scoring 11 goals.
The first month of 2022 saw Youan making another exciting move, this time he was loaned out to Belgian Pro League outfit, Mechelen and he made four first team appearances in league matches for them.
In July 2022, the Frenchman sealed a loan switch to Scottish Premiership squad, Hibernian. During the 2022 - 2023 season, Youan made an impressive haul of 36 appearances, netting the ball nine times. He carried on his form into the following season with 31 first team appearances and five goals. The 2024 - 2025 season saw him make 13 appearances and score twice.
July 2023 marked the start of a more permanent chapter in Youan's career, when he transferred from St. Gallen to Hibernian for a sum approximated to be £500k. He made his mark in the Scottish Premiership with 80 appearances and 16 goals over three seasons. In the current 2025 - 2026 season, Youan has already made three first team appearances, scoring twice.
Youan has also made his presence felt in the cup competitions. He has represented Hibernian in the League Cup 2025 - 2026, the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025, the Europa League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, and the Conference League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, making stirring substitute appearances.
