Emil Holm is a Swedish right-back, born on 13 May 2000 (age 26), now with Bologna. A tall, rangy defender at 6ft 3in (1.91m), he has the frame to stand out before he has done anything particularly subtle with the ball.
His early senior progress included a productive spell at Sonderjyske, where the 2020–21 league season remains his best return in front of goal, with three goals in 14 appearances. That gave him a useful platform beyond Sweden and helped move his career into stronger company.
At Bologna, Holm has been used in Serie A and domestic cup football. In 2026–27 he has made five Serie A appearances and two in the Supercoppa, seven appearances in all for the club. He has also been involved with Sweden this season, appearing twice in European World Cup qualifying and once in the Nations League.
His current market value is around £11m, according to Transfermarkt. Holm’s career so far is that of a Swedish international full-back who has moved steadily into a higher level, with Bologna now the main test of how much further he can push on.
