Born on the 20th of November 2001 in England, Emmanuel Fernandez struts around the football field, primarily as a central defender for Rangers Football Club. His lanky stature at 6ft 4in (1.94m) and weight of 13st 3lb (84kg) is hard to miss. Our lad wears the number 37 jersey, putting it boldly out there for all to see.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value hovers around £1.5 million. Not too shabby, I suppose, for a ball-lunging stilt like him.
Fernandez's history is as colourful as a weatherworn football. In July 2021, he managed to heave his way from Ramsgate in the Lower Leagues of England, landing squarely into the welcoming arms of Peterborough United in England's League One. In his manifesto year at Peterborough United, Fernandez graced the field in just one first team match. A truly dizzying rate of appearances it must have been!
By March 2023, Fernandez found himself on loan to Barnet in League Two in England, only to return, tail between his legs, to Peterborough United in June the same year. Again, the chap made a singular appearance for the team in the 2021 - 2022 season. One might start to spot a pattern here.
His most recent move, in July 2025, saw him jettison Peterborough United to join Rangers in Scotland's Premiership, for an undisclosed fee. We’re all in suspense over the secure bag, aren't we?
Currently in session, the 2025 - 2026 season has seen Fernandez step onto the field twice for Rangers. A bustling second year at Rangers it's shaping up to be, indeed! In the League Cup of the same season, he's materialised once, managing to score a goal. Perchance, a sign of things to come.
No matter his fortunes or misfortunes, we’ll keep an eye on Fernandez —just not a particularly keen one— watching his exploits with the footballing prowess. Or the lack of it.
