Fiacre Kelleher, born on 10 March 1996 (age 30), is an Irish central defender with Cork City. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he has built a solid senior career after leaving Celtic’s books in July 2017 for Oxford United.
His Celtic connection was brief in first-team terms, but still significant in the shape of his career. Kelleher moved on to Oxford at 21, having already had senior football away from Glasgow. His most productive league season came at Peterhead in 2016-17, when he scored three goals in 19 appearances.
Since then he has settled into life as an established professional rather than a name carried by early promise. Now primarily used at centre-half for Cork City, his market value is around £106,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Kelleher’s career has been a practical one: Celtic development, a move to Oxford United, and then regular senior football, with Cork City now his club.
