Geny Catamo, born on 26 January 2001 (age 25), is a Mozambique international right winger whose career has come to be shaped above all by Sporting CP. His current market value is around £13m, according to Transfermarkt.
His early development included loan spells that gave him the sort of senior football young wide players usually need before anyone gets too carried away. Those moves were part of the route back into Sporting’s first-team picture rather than the main story.
Sporting is where Catamo has put down proper roots. Across five seasons he has made 88 league appearances and scored 16 league goals for the Lisbon club, with his best league return coming in 2025-2026, when he scored six times in 29 appearances.
He remains part of the Sporting side in 2026-2027, wearing number 10 and still involved across competitions. He has made 16 appearances and scored three goals for the club this season, including 11 Champions League appearances with one goal.
Catamo has also stayed prominent for Mozambique, making eight World Cup qualifying appearances in Africa this season and scoring three times. His career to this point is plain enough: developed through Sporting, shaped by early loans, and now established as a regular presence for club and country.
