Gustaf Lagerbielke, born in Stockholm on 10 April 2000 (age 26), is a Swedish central defender with the kind of 6ft 3in (1.91m) frame that tends to make the job description fairly clear. He came through in Sweden and had a useful 2022 at Degerfors IF, scoring three times in 14 league appearances before moving on to IF Elfsborg.
Celtic signed him from Elfsborg in August 2023 for around £3m. His time in Glasgow was not long, but it did bring a Scottish Cup win, and that remains the obvious Celtic marker on his record. He left in July 2025, joining SC Braga for around £2m.
At Braga, Lagerbielke has continued as a first-team option rather than disappearing into the usual post-Celtic haze. Wearing number four, he remains part of the side in 2026–27, with one Liga Portugal appearance and 14 Europa League appearances, taking him to 15 games for the club across all competitions that season. He has also been involved with Sweden, making four World Cup appearances and six European qualifying appearances, scoring once in qualifying.
His market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt. Lagerbielke’s career to this point has run from Sweden to Celtic and on to Portugal, with Braga now the place where he is getting regular senior football.
