In another move, McGrath left Wigan Athletic, this time permanently, to join Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership in August 2023. The Hibernian call came in July 2025. The current 2025 - 2026 season sees McGrath at Hibernian, where till now he's had 11 starts and four goals in league encounters.
