Jamie McGrath, born on 30 September 1996 (age 29), is a Republic of Ireland attacking midfielder now with Hibernian, wearing squad number 17. He is valued at around £1m by Transfermarkt.
His Scottish career gathered proper momentum at St Mirren, where the 2020–21 league season remains his most productive: 10 goals in 35 appearances. For an attacking midfielder, that was a useful return rather than decorative involvement, and it helped establish him as a player with a bit more end product than the usual neat-and-tidy type.
At Hibernian in 2025–26, McGrath remains a regular first-team presence. He has made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals, including eight in 33 league matches. He has also featured in the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Europa League qualifying and Conference League qualifying, scoring once in Europe.
His form this season has been strong overall, though his most recent outings have dipped a little. That is not unusual across a long campaign, but it does leave a more accurate picture than simply pointing at the goals column and calling it a job done.
McGrath also has a Scottish Cup win from elsewhere on his CV. His career has settled into a familiar shape: a reliable attacking midfielder with proven Scottish Premiership output, still central enough at Hibernian to matter week to week.
