Jason Kerr, born on 6 February 1997 (age 29), is a Scottish central defender with Hibernian, where he wears the number 6 shirt.
He came through at St Johnstone, but his development was helped by time away from McDiarmid Park. The most useful of those spells was at East Fife in 2016-17, when he played 33 league matches and scored eight goals – a notable return for a centre-half and a sign that he was getting proper senior football rather than just polite minutes.
Kerr returned to St Johnstone and became an important first-team defender. His best spell there came with silverware attached, as he was part of the side that won both the Scottish Cup and the League Cup. That cup double gave his time in Perth a weight beyond routine service.
