Jhon Lucumí, born on 26 June 1998 (age 27), is a Colombian central defender whose senior career is now centred firmly on Bologna. His current market value is around £21.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His route to Italy included a spell at Genk, where his most productive league season came in 2019-2020: 22 appearances and one goal. That was useful grounding, but it is Bologna where the substance of his career has been built. Across five seasons he has made 123 league appearances for the club, scoring once.
Lucumí remains part of the Bologna first-team picture in 2025-2026 rather than a name being carried by past usefulness. He has made 29 Serie A appearances this season, with one goal, and 43 appearances in all competitions, including Coppa Italia, Supercoppa and Europa League involvement.
He has also stayed involved with Colombia, adding one World Cup appearance and 14 World Cup qualifying appearances in South America this season. At club level, though, Bologna continues to be the main thread: a steady, established defender still getting regular minutes in a side where he has put down proper roots.
