Joel Ordonez, born on 21 April 2004 (age 22), is an Ecuadorian central defender with Club Brugge. His career is still relatively young, but it has already settled into a clear shape: Brugge are the club where he has become a proper first-team player rather than a name on the edge of things.
Across three seasons with Club Brugge, Ordonez has made 55 league appearances and scored four league goals. The 2025–26 season has been his busiest and most productive in the league, with 23 appearances and three goals, while he has also been involved across the Pro League play-offs, Super Cup and Champions League. That is not background activity; he remains part of the current side.
He has also continued to feature for Ecuador, making eight appearances in South American World Cup qualifying this season. His market value is around £7.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Ordonez is, for now, a developing defender whose senior career is tied mainly to Club Brugge. The 2025–26 season has kept him relevant at club level and involved internationally with Ecuador.
