Born on the 24th of May in 1997, Jonah Ayunga is now in his prime at the age of 28. Hailing from England, the forward plies his trade primarily as a right winger and is currently adorning the number 11 jersey for St. Mirren. At an imposing 6ft (1.85m) tall and weighing in at 12st 3lb (78kg), he holds a formidable physical presence on the field.
Ayunga's football journey took him across various clubs and countries. Starting in England, he was first loaned out by Brighton & Hove Albion from the Premier League to Sligo Rovers in the Premier Division in Rep. Ireland in January 2017. That debut season unfolded with Ayunga making 21 first team appearances and netting four goals in league matches.
Subsequently, in July of the same year, the Englishman was loaned to Galway United, also in the Rep Irish Premier Division. His time there, however, was far more brief, consisting of a mere two league appearances.
In July 2018, Ayunga's career saw him returning to England, this time notching up game time for Sutton United in the National League. A string of transfers followed, with Ayunga journeying between Sutton United, Havant & Waterlooville, Bristol Rovers, and Morecambe, all for undisclosed fees.
July 2022 brought a sea change as Ayunga landed in Scotland, signing for St. Mirren in the Premiership. Here, he has led a solid career. The 2022-2023 season witnessed him making 19 first team appearances and scoring three goals. In the following season, Ayunga struck twice from 17 appearances. The striker reached his peak in the 2024-2025 campaign, having been on the field 28 times and finding the net on four occasions. As for the ongoing 2025-2026 season, Ayunga has made three appearances so far, rewarding the team with a goal.
His contribution has not been confined to league matches only. He's also made a notable impact in the League Cup 2025-2026, gracing the pitch on five occasions โthree as a starter and two coming from the bench.
