Kasper Dolberg is a Danish striker, born on 6 October 1997 (age 28). At 6ft 2in (1.87m) and 12st 13lb (82kg), he has the build for the job, though his best football has tended to rely as much on timing and calm finishing as on bulk.
Dolberg came through at Silkeborg before Ajax brought him to the Netherlands, where his development was handled largely inside the club rather than through a long run of early loans. Time with Jong Ajax gave him the usual Dutch finishing school: plenty of touches, plenty of responsibility, and little hiding place if the ball would not stick.
His breakthrough came in 2016-17, still his most productive league season, when he scored 16 goals in 29 league appearances for Ajax. That made him a serious young forward rather than just another academy name with a tidy first touch.
He later moved away from Amsterdam and had spells including Nice, Sevilla, Hoffenheim and Anderlecht, with mixed returns. Dolberg’s return to Ajax put him back in familiar surroundings, wearing the No 9 shirt. In 2025-26, he has made 19 league appearances and scored three league goals.
He was linked with a move to Celtic in August 2025 while at Ajax. His current market value is around £8.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Dolberg’s career has run from a strong Ajax breakthrough, through several moves abroad, and back to Ajax as an established Danish centre-forward. The peak numbers came early, but he remains an experienced striker with a clear pedigree at club level.
