Born on 3 October 1996 in Nigeria, Kelechi Iheanacho is a respected striker, currently making his mark in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic. Standing at a sturdy 6ft (1.85m) and weighing 12st 12lb (82kg), this athlete has represented the Nigeria national team and maintains the coveted number 17 jersey.

Kelechi's professional journey began in January 2014 when he traded the warmth of Africa for the somewhat less clement Manchester City in the English Premier League. His debut season in 2015-2016 was a promising start, making 26 first team appearances and netting eight goals. In the following 2016-2017 season, he made 20 appearances and scored four goals.
In August 2017, Leicester City procured his services for around £25m where he continued to be a regular figure on the pitch. Over seven seasons, Ịheanachọ made just shy of 200 first team appearances and scored 30 league goals.
In July 2024, Kelechi took to warmer pastures as he transferred to Sevilla in Spain's LaLiga. His tenure in Spain was shorter than expected as in February 2025, Kelechi moved to Middlesbrough on a loan deal in the English Championship. Later, he returned to Sevilla only to decide that sun and tapas were not to his preference.
This leads us to 2025 when Ịheanachọ applied his trade to the white and green of Celtic in Scotland's Premiership. Currently, he has added two goals to his ever-growing tally from four league appearances. In addition, he has made strides in the League Cup and the Europa League, while also continuing his international duty for Nigeria in the World Cup Qualifiers.
Truly, his acquisition adds depth and skill to the Celtic squad, solidifying the forward line. Only time will tell how this African forward will shape the future of our beloved Celtic.
