In July 2015, he made a move from East Stirlingshire to Partick Thistle in the Championship in Scotland. His 2015- 2016 season at Partick Thistle saw him make eight first-team appearances in league matches. Nisbet took a leap over the border to the south in July 2023, joining Millwall in the England Championship for a fee of around £2m. However, his spell in England was punctuated by a loan transfer back to Aberdeen Scotland in Scottish Premiership.

After the loan spell at Aberdeen, Nisbet returned to Millwall in June 2025. However, he returned to Aberdeen in September 2025 on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee. In his time at Aberdeen, he has made a total of 46 appearances so far and scored 12 goals.
