Scottish midfielder Kyle Magennis, born on the 26th of August 1998, currently applies his trade when attired in the number 16 jersey for Kilmarnock. Standing at 5ft 11in (1.81m) and weighing 12st 8lb (80kg), Magennis is of solid build for a man operating in the centre of the park.
His football career took off in July 2016 when St Mirren opened the door to their Premiership ground and welcomed the then trainee. His debut season in 2016-2017 saw the young Scot, green of years but ready to prove his worth, make a respectable 25 appearances for the senior squad, whilst finding the net three times in league matches. He continued to demonstrate consistent performance during his tenure with St Mirren, amassing 14 appearances in both the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons and punctuating the latter with a pair of goals. Not one to rest on his laurels, the 2019-2020 season saw an upturn in appearances, with Magennis making 22 shows and chalking up a singular goal.
As the leaves began to turn in October 2020, the winds of change saw Magennis swap his St Mirren allegiance for that of Hibernian. The fee for this move remains undisclosed, but what can't be hidden was his tenacity in his first season (2020-2021) at his new club. Making 14 appearances and scoring once, he wasted no time in making his mark. The next season, 2021-2022, was relatively quieter with him making seven appearances and scoring twice. The 2022-2023 season, however, he took a step up with 13 appearances and again, two goals.
In July 2023, another undisclosed deal saw Magennis add yet another Premiership club to his CV, this time in the form of Kilmarnock. His first season there (2023-2024) saw him make eight appearances in the league. The current season (2024-2025), finds Magennis having made an impressive 12 appearances thus far, though the goal tally remains to be written.
