Leon King, born on 14 January 2004 (age 22), is a Scottish central defender attached to Rangers. His first-team path there has been stop-start rather than straightforward, with his Rangers record standing at one senior appearance across all competitions, a Scottish Cup outing, and no league appearances in 2025-26.
He has still been part of Rangers squads during a period that brought a Premiership title, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup. That gives the CV a bit of shine, though his own senior football has mostly had to be found away from the usual noise.
King’s most productive league run came with Ayr United in 2025-26, when he made 28 appearances and scored twice. For a young centre-half, that sort of regular work matters more than medals gathered from the edge of a bigger squad.
At this stage, King’s career is still taking shape: a Scottish defender with a Rangers background, limited senior involvement there, and a useful spell at Ayr United that gave him proper league minutes.
