Liam Polworth, born on 12 October 1994 in Scotland, is a central midfielder currently signed to Kilmarnock. Standing at 5ft 11in (1.81m) and weighing in at 11st 4lb (72kg), he holds the number 31 jersey.
Polworth began his professional football journey in July 2010 when he joined Inverness CT in the League One in Scotland. Polworth's early days at Inverness CT saw limited action on the pitch. His debut season saw him make only a single league appearance but by the 2015-2016 season, his contributions had become more frequent and potent, providing six goals over 36 appearances. His time in Inverness CT culminated in the 2017-2018 season, with 22 appearances and a single goal added to his name.
In July 2019, Polworth transferred to Motherwell in the Premiership in Scotland. His two-season stint in Motherwell saw him make 51 league appearances in total, managing to find the back of the net once. July 2021 signalled another switch for Polworth, this time joining Premiership club Kilmarnock.
It wasn't long before he found himself on a brief detour, transferring on loan to Dunfermline Athletic in the Championship in Scotland in February 2022. His loan spell was merely fleeting, and in June 2022, Polworth returned to Kilmarnock.
Upon his return, Polworth found a consistent spot in the lineup, making 76 league appearances across three seasons for Kilmarnock, where he is currently plying his trade. Navigating between multiple competitions, Polworth has also made appearances in the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Europa League Qualifiers, and Conference League Qualifiers for Kilmarnock.
Now at the age of 30, Polworth continues to contribute his invaluable services to Kilmarnock, forming a key part of their midfield and lending his experience to the squad's overall performance. His progression throughout his league career paints a picture of a player who remained unphased by the trials of club transfers, consistently adapting and ultimately rising to the demands of each new team environment.
