Macaulay Tait (born 27 August 2005, age 21) is a Scottish centre midfielder with St Johnstone. Compact at 5ft 7in (1.70m), he is still in the early stages of his senior career, with his market value put at around £425,000 by Transfermarkt.
The bulk of Tait’s senior football has come at Livingston, where he made 48 league appearances across two seasons. That spell gives the career its shape so far: regular first-team exposure at a young age, rather than the more scattered minutes that often follow developing midfielders around Scotland.
He also had a 2023-24 spell at Hearts, making 12 league appearances. That added another Premiership environment to his CV, though it was Livingston that carried the greater weight in terms of games played.
