Marco Tilio, the Aussie forward, was born on August 23, 2001. Standing at 5ft 6in (1.7m) tall and tipping the scales at 10st 7lb (67kg), he has carved out a name for himself as a formidable left winger. Having represented the Australian national team, Tilio now finds his footballing home in Scotland, at none other than Celtic Football Club.
According to Transfermarkt, Tilio's current market worth is pegged at around £680k. His contract with Celtic is ticking down, ending on June 30, 2025, with a shade over a month left.
It all began for Tilio at Sydney FC in Australia's A-League, where he joined the ranks in July 2018. Tilio's debut season with Sydney FC saw him take to the pitch for three first team games, netting one goal in the league. However, in September 2020, he decided to switch allegiances and transferred to Melbourne City, another A-League side.
His stint at Melbourne City was significantly more fruitful. Over the course of four seasons - from 2020 to 2023 - Tilio represented Melbourne City at the first team matches 92 times, impressively racking up a tally of 20 goals. In the course of the ongoing season (2024-2025), he has already featured in 16 matches and snagged five goals.
Tilio then made the crucial move to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership in July 2023, for a fee of around £1.1m. Despite this, his appearances at Celtic were limited. In the 2023 - 2024 season, he only managed to get on the pitch for the first team twice. The current season, as of 2024 - 2025, has been bleak; Tilio has yet to make a first team appearance.
Come February 2024, Tilio was on the move again, transferred from Celtic back to Melbourne City on a loan agreement. After his return to Melbourne City was confirmed, the Australian forward has since returned to Celtic upon completion of his loan period in June 2025.
Unfortunately, his return to Celtic didn't herald a change in fortune with regards to playing time. Thus far, in the season of 2024 - 2025, Tilio has yet to get off the mark with first team appearances.
