Martin Boyle, born on 25 April 1993 (age 33), is an Australian international right winger whose career has been shaped far more by Hibernian than by anywhere else. His early senior football included a prolific spell at Montrose, where his 22 league goals in 36 appearances in 2011–12 remain the most productive league season of his career.
That early output gave him a platform, but Hibs became the long-term home. Across 12 seasons with the Edinburgh club, Boyle has made 317 league appearances and scored 82 league goals, numbers that say plenty about both his staying power and his usefulness. He has also won the Scottish Cup with Hibernian, a medal that carries rather more weight at Easter Road than most routine career footnotes.
Now wearing the number 10, Boyle remains a regular first-team presence in 2025–26 rather than a player being eased towards the margins. He has made 43 appearances in all competitions for Hibernian this season, scoring 10 goals, including seven in the league and three in Conference League qualifying. His form has been solid and consistent, which is not a bad place to be at 33.
He has also stayed involved with Australia, making seven appearances in Asian World Cup qualifying this season and scoring twice. Boyle’s career is a straightforward one to read: a sharp early scorer at Montrose, then a long, productive and still relevant Hibernian player with international football alongside it.
