Michel-Ange Balikwisha, born on 10 May 2001 (age 24), is a DR Congo winger whose senior career has been shaped mainly in Belgium. His best league return came early, with Standard Liege in 2020-21, when he scored seven times in 26 appearances.
Royal Antwerp then became the main body of his work. Across five seasons there, Balikwisha made 85 league appearances and scored 16 league goals, enough to make that spell the clear reference point in his career rather than a passing stop.
Celtic signed him from Royal Antwerp in August 2025. His first season has been uneven in terms of involvement: seven league appearances without a goal for Celtic, along with four league appearances and one goal back on loan at Royal Antwerp. His form has been solid enough, but he has not been in the matchday squad recently, with his last appearance coming in the 3-0 defeat to Roma on 11 December 2025.
He has also had Belgium Under-21 involvement, while his current market value is around £3.5m according to Transfermarkt. At this stage, Balikwisha’s career remains anchored by his Royal Antwerp years, with his Celtic chapter still relatively short and not yet fully settled.
