Mikael Mandron, born on 11 October 1994 in France, presently adorns the #9 jersey for St Mirren. Standing at 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing 12st 12lb (82kg), Mandron exhibits physicality that makes him an impenetrable force, especially in the forward position as a striker.
Mandron's journey in professional football commenced as a trainee with Sunderland in the English Premier League in July 2011. He made his on-pitch debut during the 2012-2013 season and made another appearance in the 2014-2015 season for the same club. Thereon, he was loaned to Fleetwood Town (Jan 2014-League Two), where he made 11 appearances and netted a goal during the 2013-2014 season. A similar loan transfer landed him at Shrewsbury Town (Jan 2015-League Two), where he made three appearances in the 2014-2015 season.
Mandron's final loan spell from Sunderland took him to Hartlepool United in the National League during November 2015. He appeared five times during the 2015-2016 season. In July 2016, he moved permanently to Eastleigh in the National League, making 28 appearances and finding the back of the net ten times during the 2016-2017 season.
A transfer to Wigan Athletic (Jan 2017-League One) followed where the striker made three appearances in the 2016-2017 season. The Frenchman then switched to Colchester United (July 2017-League Two) where he appeared 28 times and scored eight goals in the 2017-2018 season.
Mandron's move to Gillingham (July 2019-League Two) led to 23 appearances and a goal in the 2022-2023 season. A short stint at Crewe Alexandra (August 2020) followed before returning to Gillingham for less than a season.
In January 2023, Mandron transitioned to Scottish football as he joined Motherwell in the Premiership. He was on the field ten times and managed to score a goal during the 2022-2023 season. A move to St Mirren followed in July 2023, where he has been since, making a total of 85 first team appearances and scoring 18 goals over three seasons.
