Rocky Bushiri, born on 30 November 1999 (age 26), is a DR Congo central defender whose career has come to be shaped chiefly by Hibernian. Earlier loan spells gave him the senior football he needed, but it is at Easter Road that he has settled into a proper first-team role rather than just passing through.
Since joining Hibs, Bushiri has become a regular presence in their defence, wearing squad number 33 and building up 109 league appearances and six league goals across five seasons. His most productive league campaign came in 2024–25, when he scored three times in 28 appearances, a useful return for a centre-back without making it the main point of his game.
He has remained firmly involved in 2025–26, making 25 league appearances and scoring three league goals, with further outings in domestic cups and European qualifiers taking him to 34 appearances and five goals for Hibernian in all competitions. He has also been active for DR Congo, making two World Cup qualifying appearances in Africa this season.
Bushiri’s career is now tied closely to Hibernian: a defender developed through loans, established in Leith, and still part of the side rather than drifting to the edge of it.
