Ruben Loftus-Cheek, born on 23 January 1996 (age 30), is an English central midfielder with AC Milan, where he wears the number 8 shirt. At an imposing 6ft 3in (1.91m), he has always had the frame for senior football, though his career has been more about finding rhythm and role than any neat rise through the game.
His senior reputation was built at Chelsea, with his most productive league season coming in 2018–19, when he scored six goals in 24 appearances. That remains the clearest snapshot of the player he can be when used properly: a midfielder able to carry himself into attacking areas and add a goal threat without needing the whole side built around him.
He later moved on to AC Milan and remains a regular first-team presence in 2025–26. He has made 28 Serie A appearances this season, scoring three goals, along with three Coppa Italia appearances and one in the Supercoppa. Across all competitions for Milan, that gives him 32 appearances and three goals.
His current market value is around £7m, according to Transfermarkt. Loftus-Cheek’s career has taken him from Chelsea promise to a settled role in Italy, where he remains a useful and experienced part of Milan’s midfield.
