Sebastian Tounekti, hailing from Norway and born on 13 July 2002 (now aged 23), is best known for his position as a left winger for the Celtic football team. Standing at 5ft 7in (1.71m) and weighing 10st 3lb (65kg), he injects dynamism and agility into the game. Donning a jersey with the number 23, Tounekti has also brought his forward skills to the Tunisia national team. His current market value, about £5m, is not to be taken lightly, a fact corroborated by Transfermarkt.
Trace back to March 2020, Tounekti took a leap from Tromsdalen in the Norwegian 2. Divisjon to Bodo Glimt in the Eliteserien where his skills saw him make nine first team appearances and pocket a goal in his debut season. The following year, 2021, he maintained his momentum with five more premier league appearances.
The year August 2021 saw a shift in leagues as our man went on loan to FC Groningen in the Eredivisie, Netherlands. A year later he was back at Bodo Glimt, marking his return with a solid performance which was then followed by a transfer to Haugesund in the OBOS-ligaen in Norway in August 2022.
During his tenure at Haugesund, Tounekti made gradual strides over three seasons from 2022 to 2024, with appearances increasing from five to a commendable 29. He also managed to net four goals in his final season there. His consistency was recognised by Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan, Sweden who acquired his services in February 2025 for around £1m. He swiftly proved himself by scoring two goals from 21 appearances in the 2025 season.
However, bigger things lay in store for Tounekti. In September the same year, he made his way to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. So far in the season 2025 - 2026, he has made 22 first team appearances, cementing his importance to the team. He's seen success with Celtic, with the League Cup and Scottish Cup of the season 2025 - 2026 being particular highlights as he scored a goal and made three starts, as well as two appearances. On international duty for Tunisia in the Africa CON and World Cup Qualifiers Africa in the period 2024 - 2026, he's had several starts and appearances as a substitute to boast about. Last but not least were his performances in the Europa League 2025 - 2026 for Celtic; eight starts and two appearances as a substitute leave no doubts about his contributions to the team.
