In the southeast of the republic, tucked away amidst the picturesque hills of Styria, a football squad with over a century's existence can be found going about their business: Sturm Graz. Founded in the year 1909, these lads have seen it all, weathering the storm from their fortress—the Merkur-Arena.
Sturm Graz's young squad, filled with untapped potential, comprises 23 players. They're sprightly, with an average age of just 23, enough to put some of the more weathered teams to shame. The players run the full gamut of experience levels but all share the youthful vigour inherent to the club.
Like any team that thrives on competition, Sturm Graz has kept their plate full this season, participating in four different events. In the domestic arena, they've represented in the Bundesliga, staking their claim at the fifth position. They've put up a fight till the second round of the ÖFB Cup; not ideal, but their spirit is undeniable. With the rest of Europe watching, they've made it to the play-offs of the Champions League Qualifiers. And let's not forget their participation in the League Phase of the Europa League.
