Tom Ritchie, standing 5ft 11in (1.82m) tall and weighing 12st 1lb (77kg), is a Scottish born footballer who currently wears the number 25 jersey as a goalkeeper for Aberdeen Football Club. Born on the 27th of January, 2003, Ritchie's contract with Aberdeen is set to run out on the 31st of May, 2025.
His journey began with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership in July 2018. However, during the 2024 - 2025 season at Aberdeen, he has yet to make a single appearance in first team league matches.
In July 2022, a loan move saw Ritchie temporarily transfer from Aberdeen to the League One club, Queen of the South. This was followed by another loan move in September 2022, this time to Peterhead, a League Two club. During his debut season at Peterhead in 2022 - 2023, Ritchie made 17 appearances in first team league matches. On completion of his loan, he returned to Aberdeen in January 2023.
Regardless of his playing time at Peterhead, Ritchie found himself on the move once more in January 2023 for another loan spell to the League Two club. Similar to his first tenure, he made 17 appearances in the league for Peterhead. Following the end of his loan spell, Ritchie returned to Aberdeen, where he has unfortunately not made any first team appearances during the 2024 - 2025 season.
In July 2024, Ritchie went out on loan again, this time to Bonnyrigg Rose, a club in the Scottish League Two. However, by December 2024, he found himself back at Aberdeen once more. Unfortunately, as with his previous returns, he has not made any first team league appearances this season.
It has truly been a zig-zagging journey for Ritchie, a fledgling career littered with loans and waiting for that breakthrough opportunity to embellish his tenure at Aberdeen. As his contract counts down, only time will tell if this lad will finally get his chance to demonstrate his skills on the pitch.
