Born in the land of fire and ice, Iceland, on 14 August 2002, Tómas Bent Magnússon aged 23, currently plies his trade with Heart of Midlothian as the number 22 central midfielder. Although a fairly recent addition to the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, his presence in the middle of the park for Hearts has begun to make an impression.
Despite his relatively youthful age, Magnússon carries a current market valuation of around £43k, as cited by football value database, Transfermarkt. This, it must be said, given his performances in the current 2025-2026 season, seems rather miserly.
During this current Premiership campaign, Magnússon has proved himself to be a useful squad player in the capital, making a total of six appearances, all of which have been from the subs bench. While not setting the heather alight with goals or assists, his stature on the field has lent itself to a sturdy and reliable tenet of the Hearts midfield engine room.
The Icelander has also contributed in the League Cup tournament for Hearts during the 2025-2026 season, running out in the starting lineup on at least one occasion. Whilst he is yet to etch his name onto the scoresheet or provide the decisive pass to cut through opposing defences, one gets the impression that this northern lad is only getting started on his Scottish football journey.
