Tristan Gooijer, born on 2 September 2004 (age 21), is a Dutch central defender with Ajax. His career to this point has been shaped far more by Jong Ajax than by any passing noise around him, which is no bad thing for a young defender learning his job in public.
Jong Ajax has been the main body of work so far: 50 league appearances and three goals across three seasons. His most productive campaign came in 2023-2024, when he scored three times in 21 league matches, a decent return for a centre-half without pretending it tells the whole story.
By 2025-2026, Gooijer was still very much involved at first-team level. He has made 23 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax, scoring three goals, and has also played once in the KNVB Beker. Across all competitions for Ajax that gives him 24 appearances and three goals.
His market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt. For now, his profile is that of a developing Ajax defender whose senior relevance is growing, but whose career is still most clearly rooted in his Jong Ajax spell.
