Tsuyoshi Watanabe, born on 5 February 1997 (age 29), is a Japan international central defender with Feyenoord, where he wears the No.4 shirt. His current market value is around £7.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His senior career took shape at FC Tokyo, where his best league return came in 2019 with two goals in 20 appearances. That was not a wild scoring burst, clearly, but for a centre-half it showed he could offer something at set-pieces as well as in his own box.
By 2025-2026, Watanabe remains a regular part of Feyenoord’s first team rather than a fringe name. He has made 30 Eredivisie appearances this season, scoring two league goals, and 39 appearances in all competitions for the club, with five goals. That wider total includes two goals in Champions League qualifying and one in the Europa League.
He has also stayed involved with Japan, making one World Cup appearance and playing twice in Asian World Cup qualifying this season. His career to this point is a steady one: established in Japan, now a regular defender at Feyenoord, and still part of the national-team picture.
