Zaid Romero, born on 15 December 1999 (age 26), is an Argentine central defender with Getafe. At 6ft 5in (1.95m), he is a commanding presence, the sort of centre-half whose frame does plenty of the explaining before the ball is even in play.
His most settled league campaign came with Estudiantes de La Plata in 2023, when he made 22 appearances and scored one goal. That season gave him a proper platform in senior football rather than just a line on a squad list.
In 2025-26, Romero’s season was split between Club Brugge and Getafe. He made one league appearance for the Belgian club before establishing himself more clearly in Spain, where he played 15 league matches for Getafe and scored once.
Romero’s career to this point has moved from Argentina to Belgium and then Spain, with his Getafe spell giving him a firmer place at a decent European level. He remains a developing defender rather than a finished article, but he now has senior minutes in three different leagues behind him.
