Sturm Graz are one of Austria’s established clubs, founded in 1909 and based at Stadion Graz-Liebenau. For Celtic supporters, they sit in that familiar European category: not a glamour name, but organised, awkward, and with enough recent form to merit proper attention.
The 2026-27 season finds them fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga, with a young squad of 28 players and an average age of 23. Their campaign has also taken in the ÖFB Cup second round and the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
Their recent league form is steady rather than spectacular: three wins and three draws in the last six matches listed, including a 2-0 win away to TSV Hartberg, a 2-0 home win over Rapid Vienna, and a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Salzburg. Away from home they have carried a decent threat, averaging 1.5 goals scored and 0.5 conceded per match.

Sturm Graz are currently a competitive Austrian Bundesliga side with a young squad, solid recent results, and enough European context to be taken seriously. For Celtic, they would represent a practical test rather than a mystery.
